Our Company History

Our company’s history is built on innovation and adventure, of risks taken and bold decisions made. It is the story of dedicated individuals working together in building a great company with a noble purpose – helping people all around the world live longer, healthier lives. It is the story of a small chemical firm from a humble beginning in Brooklyn, New York which went on to become one of the world’s premier pharmaceutical enterprises.

Pfizer has come a long way since its establishment in 1849 by Charles Pfizer and Charles Erhart. What started out as a family firm with two employees and a simple product has become a global enterprise with 130,000 employees over six continents. In addition to this, our products are available to consumers in more than 150 countries worldwide.
